\nLusaka West Medical Center is a soon to open private health facility in Lusaka looking to recruit a dynamic individual to fill the position of\u00a0General Practitioner.
\nJob Description:
\nWe are looking for a dedicated General Practitioner to join our dynamic clinical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centred medical care, ensuring accurate diagnosis of common ailments, effective treatment, and timely referrals where necessary. The ideal candidate should demonstrate sound clinical judgment, strong ethical standards, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
\nResponsibilities<\/p>\n
Attend to patients by conducting thorough history taking, clinical examination, diagnosis, and treatment in accordance with established medical standards.
\nRespond promptly and efficiently to medical emergencies presenting to the health facility.
\nPrescribe medications responsibly and ensure the rational use of pharmaceuticals.
\nOrder and interpret diagnostic tests and utilize available support services (Laboratory, Radiology, Physiotherapy, etc.) appropriately.
\nRefer patients to specialists or consultants when necessary and coordinate patient management plans.
\n\u00a0Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential medical records.
\nSupervise and mentor clinical and support staff where applicable.
\n\u00a0Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
\n\u00a0Promote preventive healthcare and patient education on disease and trauma management in addition to lifestyle modification.
\nObserve strict medical ethics, professionalism, and patient confidentiality at all times.
\nKeep abreast of medical advancements, emerging treatments, and clinical best practices.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate.
\nMB ChB (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery), MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery), MD or equivalent.
\nPrior clinical experience in a private hospital setting will be an added advantage.
\nFully registered with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) \u2013 Post Internship.
\nMust possess a valid practicing license.
\nStrong diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.
\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
\nHigh level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
\nComputer literate and able to work effectively in an electronic medical records environment.<\/p>\n
Reporting Line
\nThe General Practitioner will report directly to the Executive Director of the Medical Center.
