About Zimbabwe Red Cross Society Zimbabwe Red Cross Society Vacancies The Zimbabwe Red Cross Society is a voluntary organisation whose aim is to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable communities. It is an auxiliary to government as mandated through the Zimbabwe Red Cross Society Act of Parliament No 30 of 1981 also known as Chapter 17.08. It has branches throughout the country and is part of the global Red Cross movement present in 189 countries. Orphans and Vulnerable Children, the elderly, the chronically ill, the HIV infected and affected, the elderly and widowed and the generally disadvantaged members of the community make up our beneficiary list. As a disaster relief organisation, the ZRCS is also a member of the civil protection unit (CPU) and it responds to both natural and manmade disasters.
Job Description
The Zimbabwe Red Cross Society (ZRCS), a humanitarian organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable communities, is inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and results-oriented individuals for the position of Provincial Manager x 3.The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, programme coordination, financial stewardship, and stakeholder engagement within the assigned province in line with the Society’s mission, vision, and humanitarian mandate.The names of provinces will be shared to shortlisted candidates
Duties and Responsibilities
The Provincial Manager will be responsible for:• Providing strategic leadership and supervision of provincial staff and volunteers. • Coordinating programme planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. • Managing provincial budgets, financial controls, and accountability systems. • Leading disaster preparedness, emergency response, and community resilience initiatives. • Driving resource mobilisation, partnership development, and innovative fundraising initiatives. • Strengthening stakeholder engagement with Government Ministries, NGOs, local authorities, traditional leaders, community structures, and cooperating partners. • Promoting the visibility and corporate image of the Zimbabwe Red Cross Society within the province. • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, financial regulations, and operational procedures. • Supervising human resources functions including performance management, staff development, and volunteer coordination.
Qualifications and Experience
• A Degree in, Social Sciences, Disaster Management, Business Administration, Finance, Development Studies or related field. A master’s degree will be an added advantage. • At least 5 years’ senior management experience preferably in the humanitarian, development, or NGO sector. • Strong knowledge and experience in: o Programme management and coordination o Financial management and budgeting o Resource mobilisation and donor engagement o Disaster risk reduction and emergency response o Stakeholder relations and partnership management • Proven ability to develop innovative and sustainable provincial initiatives. • Excellent communication, negotiation, report writing, and presentation skills. • Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders from Government, NGOs, public authorities, community leadership, donors, and development partners. • Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills. • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Navision). • A clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence a must.
