\n\t\t\t\tThe National Biotechnology Authority (NBA) is an autonomous research and development institution with a mandate to develop Zimbabwe through the application of both conventional and cutting-edge biotechnologies. Established through the National Biotechnology Authority of Zimbabwe (NBA) Act of 2006 [Chap. 14: 31]. Its role is to transform the country from a raw material-based into a knowledge\u2013based economy through the judicious application of biotechnology. The RDI Department of the National Biotechnology Authority is seeking to employ a competent Senior Research Officer in DRUG DISCOVERY\/BIOPHARMACEUTICALS.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities
\n\t\t\t\tThe duties and responsibilities of the Senior Research Officer (Drug Discovery\/Biopharmaceuticals) at National Biotechnology Authority will include:\u2022\tAssisting in the preparation and execution of laboratory experiments related to drug discovery and biopharmaceuticals.\u2022\tPerforming assays to evaluate drug efficacy and safety.\u2022\tPreparing reports, summarizing findings and assisting in data interpretation.\u2022\tAssisting in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).\u2022\tSupporting research projects by providing technical assistance in drug formulation and testing.\u2022\tCollaborating with scientists in the design and execution of experiments.\u2022\tFamiliarizing with relevant regulations and guidelines (e.g., GLP, GMP) and assisting in the preparation of regulatory documentation and submissions.\u2022\tParticipating in ongoing trainings to stay updated with advancements in drug discovery and biopharmaceuticals.\u2022\tWorking effectively within a multidisciplinary team, communicating findings and updates to team members and supervisors.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience
\n\t\t\t\t\u2022\tBSc Pharmaceutical Biotechnology\/ Biochemistry\/Pharmacy or related.\u2022\tMSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology\/ Biochemistry\/Pharmacy or related.\u2022\tAt least 3 years\u2019 experience in a Drug Discovery\/Biopharmaceuticals laboratory.\u2022\tPost graduate certificate in drug discovery is an added advantage.<\/p>\n
