He\/She will work in collaboration with other units,projects, partners and ActionAid countries to maximize the power and effectiveness of campaigns. The officerwill also oversee the implementation of ActionAid Zimbabwe\u2019s communications strategy, which supports theorganisation\u2019s advocacy and campaigning work, strengthens brand identity and increases supporterengagement. This position aims to raise the profile of ActionAid Zimbabwe and improve the visibility of itsprograms and partnerships at local, national and international levels.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tThe Key Responsibilities:\u2022 Develop AAZ campaigns strategy in consultation with the Programs Team and in alignment with theActionAid Federation Campaigns Framework.\u2022 Lead the integration of communication, documentation and information work into the AAZ Strategy,Annual Plans and Budgets and medium\/long-term plans.\u2022 Ensure public and supporter campaigning and communications strategies for priority campaigns aredesigned to reach and engage large audiences. Develop and produce actions that enable supportersand the wider public to contribute to campaign objectives.\u2022 Integrate online mobilisation approaches effectively into national strategies and plans.\u2022 Provide leadership and guidance to the Country Programme on the design and implementation ofglobal advocacy campaigns. Offer professional expertise to determine appropriate campaignstrategies and tactics, and lead in planning communications and mobilisation activities that effectivelyinfluence targeted decision-makers.\u2022 Identify capacity-building needs of partners, rights holders, and AAZ staff in documentation,communication, campaigns, and information work. Develop and implement related capacity-buildingplans.\u2022 Write, edit, and supervise the production and dissemination of AAZ publications, communication,campaign, and information materials (e.g., newsletters, magazines, press statements, brochures,flyers, posters, videos, etc.).\u2022 Organize and facilitate AAZ\u2019s public relations and marketing activities, including exhibitions at relevantplatforms (e.g., Agricultural Shows, NGO Expos, Trade Fairs, Public Meetings, Civil Society Meetings,Donor Roundtable Meetings, etc.).\u2022 Contribute to the development of concept papers and project proposals aligned with the strategicobjectives of the Country Strategic Paper.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tREQUIREMENTS:\u2022 A degree in Media Studies, Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline. Apostgraduate qualification with a focus on Gender and Development Studies, Disaster andLivelihoods, or any of the aforementioned fields will be an added advantage.\u2022 At least two years of practical experience in media, journalism, communications, public relations, ormarketing. Experience in planning and executing public campaigns (including global campaigns) orcommunications strategies aimed at public engagement and influencing decision-makers is required.<\/p>\n<p>KEY COMPETENCIES\u2022 Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build effective relationships withindividuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.\u2022 Interest in and understanding of new developments and trends in communications andcampaigning.\u2022 Expertise in core communications disciplines, including media relations, social media strategy,multimedia, and brand and reputation management.\u2022 Experience with new media and web-based platforms is an added advantage.\u2022 Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely andproactively share information about decisions and plans.\u2022 Demonstrated experience in coordinating campaigns.\u2022 Solid understanding of digital campaigning methods and planning digital campaign tactics.\u2022 Willingness to travel occasionally, including on short notice.\u2022 Experience working within the NGO sector is preferred.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tHow to Apply<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tSUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS &amp; CLOSING DATEPlease submit your curriculum vitae and a motivation letter using the following link:by 17:00 hrs on 20 July2025.
