\n\t\t\t\tThe Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is a statutory body mandated to ensure the provision of a level playing field for safe, reliable and sustainable energy supply through effective regulation. ZERA seeks the services of a highly competent, professional and results oriented individual who is able to take the organisation to a higher level in the following role:Legal Officer – DraftingThe Key Job Functions of this position are as follows:<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities
\n\t\t\t\tKey Responsibilities:\u2022 Drafting and reviewing legislation, regulations, and related legal frameworks.\u2022 Monitoring legislative changes and updating existing laws.\u2022 Conducting legal training workshops to raise awareness on energy-related laws.\u2022 Undertaking research on legal issues affecting the Authority\u2022 Preparing prosecution cases in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors.\u2022 Coordinating litigation cases in liaison with external lawyers.\u2022 Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with service providers.\u2022 Reviewing policies and licence applications.\u2022 Providing expert legal advice to Management and the Board.\u2022 Assisting in the formulation and implementation of legal strategies\u2022 Identifying, monitoring, and mitigating legal risks.\u2022 Providing legal services for dispute resolution cases.\u2022 Providing legal support during procurement and tender evaluations.\u2022 Compiling legal reports in line with organisational reporting cycles.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience
\n\t\t\t\tQualifications & Experience:\u2022 A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree.\u2022 Registered Legal Practitioner\u2022 At least three (3) years’ relevant experience in legislative drafting.\u2022 Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and energy law.\u2022 Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.\u2022 Ability to handle confidential information and make sound decisions.\u2022 Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.<\/p>\n
