\n\t\t\t\tThe Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is a statutory body mandated to ensure the provision of a level playing field for safe, reliable and sustainable energy supply through effective regulation. ZERA seeks the services of a highly competent and results oriented individual who can take the Authority to a higher level in the following role:RESEARCH AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY ENGINEERReporting directly to the Chief Engineer Electricity, the Key Job Functions of this position will be:<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities
\n\t\t\t\t\u2022 Managing and co-ordinating energy efficiency projects and programmes undertaken by the Authority or third-party institutions.\u2022 Assist in developing energy efficiency codes, standards, regulations and energy management systems.\u2022 Identifying, investigating and implementing energy efficiency pilot projects for promotion of new technologies.\u2022 Enforcement of minimum energy performance standards and energy management\u2022 Assisting in concept development and participating in the formulation of energy Research projects, independently evaluating proposals and selecting the same\u2022 Coordinate Research and Development in the energy sector.\u2022 Advising\/educating consumers and licensees regarding the efficient use of energy\u2022 Developing\/creating promotional material for energy efficiency awareness.\u2022 Facilitates energy efficiency seminars\/workshops and awareness campaigns and exhibition platforms countrywide.\u2022 Assist in energy data analytics and reporting.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience
\n\t\t\t\tQualifications and ExperienceThe successful candidate for this position should meet the following criteria:\u2022 BSc Degree in Electrical \/ Mechanical Engineering.\u2022 5 years’ hands on experience of which 2 years must have been at mid-managerial level within the Energy sector, energy management or Intensive Energy Use.\u2022 Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) qualification.\u2022 Energy efficiency and energy management knowledge essential\u2022 Project Management experience and research skills\u2022 Ability to work with other professionals in the industry.\u2022 Data analytics and reporting.Good communication skills both written and oral.\u2022 A Master’s degree in the relevant area will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
