Through women-led groups, inclusive market access, and gender-transformative approaches such as TOOSE and the Champion Family model, households sustain equitable decision-making, improved nutrition, and climate-resilient farming systems. Over time, these changes foster inclusive, diversified, and sustainable local food systems driven by empowered women.<\/p>\n<p>Position SummaryWelthungerhilfe seeks to recruit a Head of Project (HoP) who will provide overall strategic, technical, and managerial leadership for the effective implementation of this consortium project. The HoP is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and adaptive management of the MIKANA project in Mudzi District. The role ensures coherence across the project\u2019s four interlinked components and drives a systemic, community-led approach to food systems transformation, with a strong focus on gender equality and role transformation, environmental sustainability, and local market development<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities<br \/>\n\t\t\t\ta) Project Coordination &amp; Implementation\u2022\tLead the overall planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in line with agreed objectives, timelines, and budgets. \u2022\tEnsure strong integration and coherence across all four project components. \u2022\tCoordinate efficient day-to-day operations and ensure timely delivery of outputs and outcomes. \u2022\tOversee financial management in collaboration with finance teams, ensuring compliance with donor requirements. <\/p>\n<p>b) Partner Coordination &amp; Systems Alignment\u2022\tCoordinate implementing partners, ensuring alignment of approaches, joint planning, effective communication and efficient implementation. \u2022\tFacilitate regular coordination platforms to strengthen collaboration, manage dependencies, and address bottlenecks. \u2022\tEnsure that interventions build on synergies with past and ongoing projects in the area. \u2022\tSupport partners in maintaining a systemic perspective, avoiding fragmented or isolated interventions. <\/p>\n<p>c) Facilitation of Learning &amp; Adaptive Management\u2022\tEstablish and facilitate continuous learning and reflection processes across partners and stakeholders. \u2022\tPromote adaptive management by ensuring that lessons learned inform ongoing implementation. \u2022\tSupport documentation of good practices, challenges, and emerging insights. \u2022\tCreate spaces for community feedback and ensure it informs decision-making. <\/p>\n<p>d) Community Engagement &amp; Visioning Process\u2022\tEnsure that the community visioning process remains central to project implementation. \u2022\tSupport participatory approaches that enable communities especially women to define priorities, pace, and pathways of change. \u2022\tEnsure inclusive engagement of diverse groups, including women, youth, and marginalized populations. <\/p>\n<p>e) Gender Equality &amp; Social Transformation\u2022\tEnsure that gender-transformative approaches are integrated across all project components. \u2022\tPromote women\u2019s leadership in producer groups, markets, and community decision-making structures. \u2022\tSupport processes that address social norms and intra-household dynamics. <\/p>\n<p>f) Market Systems &amp; Livelihood Development\u2022\tOversee interventions related to producer\/collector group development, small enterprise support, and market linkages. \u2022\tEnsure alignment between production, market demand, and consumer behaviour change strategies. \u2022\tStrengthen linkages between local markets and external buyers where relevant. <\/p>\n<p>g) Monitoring, Evaluation &amp; Reporting\u2022\tEnsure effective implementation of the project\u2019s M&amp;E framework. \u2022\tTrack progress against indicators and support data driven decision making. \u2022\tLead the preparation of high quality narrative and financial reports for donors and stakeholders. h) Stakeholder Engagement &amp; Representation\u2022\tRepresent the project in coordination platforms with government, private sector, and other stakeholders. \u2022\tMaintain strong relationships with local authorities and traditional leaders. \u2022\tAdvocate for supportive policies and practices related to food systems and gender equality.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\u2022\tAdvanced degree in agriculture, rural development, or related field. Masters in Agriculture is an added advantage. \u2022\tStrong understanding of gender-transformative approaches and community engagement methodologies. Degree in Gender Studies is an added advantage.\u2022\tMinimum 5\u20137 years of experience in managing development projects, preferably in food systems, market development, livelihoods and gender. \u2022\tProven experience in coordinating multiple partners and facilitating multi-stakeholder processes. Experience with adaptive management and learning-oriented programming. \u2022\tFamiliarity with the Zimbabwe context, particularly rural livelihoods and market systems. \u2022\tProject budget management experience.\u2022\t Systems thinking and ability to manage complex, interlinked interventions.\u2022\tStrong facilitation and communication skills.\u2022\tAbility to balance structure with flexibility in dynamic contexts. \u2022\tCultural sensitivity and commitment to participatory approaches.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tHow to Apply<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tDuring the application process, WHH will not charge any fee nor will it require any payment for an application to be considered.
