\n\t\t\t\tAre you a people person with a keen eye for detail and a passion for the arts? We are looking for a versatile Gallery Tour Guide to join our team. In this role, you won’t just be showing people around; you\u2019ll be the primary steward of our collection and the face of our visitor experience.The ideal candidate balances the vigilance of a protector with the warmth of a world-class host. The applicant will be based at the Harare gallery.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities
\n\t\t\t\t1.\tSpace Stewardship & SafetyYou are the first line of defense for our collection. You will maintain the integrity of the gallery by:\uf0d8\tPatrolling exhibition spaces regularly to ensure a safe and respectful environment.\uf0d8\tSecuring artworks and monitoring for any potential risks to the collection.\uf0d8\tMaintaining the aesthetic of the gallery by ensuring spaces are tidy, organized, and dust-free.\uf0d8\tLeading emergency protocols, including assisting in evacuations and ensuring visitor safety during unforeseen events.\uf0d8\tObserving and documenting any incidents, accidents, or irregularities with detailed reports.2.\tVisitor Engagement & ExperienceYou are the voice of the gallery. You will guarantee a memorable visit for every guest by:\uf0d8\tWelcoming and greeting visitors with a professional and friendly demeanor.\uf0d8\tGuiding visitors through the exhibitions, helping them navigate the space and discover key highlights.\uf0d8\tResponding to inquiries regarding artist biographies, artwork titles, and general gallery history.\uf0d8\tDistributing exhibition materials (brochures, maps, etc.) to enhance the visitor’s journey.\uf0d8\tCollecting feedback to help us continually improve the guest experience.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience
\n\t\t\t\t3.\tWhat we\u2019re looking for;\uf0d8\tA Vigilant Eye: You notice the small things\u2014whether it\u2019s a smudge on a pedestal or a visitor getting a little too close to a masterpiece.\uf0d8\tExcellent Communication: You can talk to anyone, from seasoned art critics to school groups, with ease and clarity.\uf0d8\tReliability: You are calm under pressure and dependable in emergency situations.\uf0d8\tA Passion for Art: While you don’t need a PhD, a genuine interest in art history and gallery operations is highly valued.4.\tThe person must possess:\uf0d8\t5 \u2018O\u2019 Levels including English Language.\uf0d8\tCertificate\/Diploma in Customer Care or Tour Guide Course preferred.\uf0d8\tBeing multilingual is an added advantage.<\/p>\n
