Job Description
\n\t\t\t\tReporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will manage all the financial aspects of the Authority,inter alia, financial planning, cost control and budgeting as well as providing corporate governance oversight. He willalso provide strategic leadership and oversight of the organization\u2019s financial and administrative functions byensuring effective financial management, compliance, resource utilization, and efficient administration of stores,transport, registry, stores, and support services to achieve organizational goals and enhance operational performance.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities
\n\t\t\t\tKey Outputs\u2022 Contribute to the overall company strategy and policy making by advising the Board and the GM on the financial implications of their decisions.\u2022 Formulate, direct and execute finance support strategies.\u2022 Formulate and review financial plans and strategies in line with the NSSA business plan so as to work towards achieving the Authority\u2019s vision.\u2022 Produce statutory reports for the Government on the financial performance of NSSA annually.\u2022 Provide timely, transparent, accurate and complete financial reports on the Authority\u2019s operations.\u2022 Formulate the budget framework for NSSA in accordance with strategy determined by the Board.\u2022 Review the budget bids for each Division in line with NSSA\u2019s vision, mission and strategic thrust.\u2022 Exercise overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including systems, corporatefinance, managing company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity and acquisitions as appropriate.\u2022 Ensure that all accounting and reporting is accurate and in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.\u2022 Develop cost containment strategies for the Authority to enhance business profitability.\u2022 Introduce, review and monitor appropriate internal control procedures in order to ensure a sound internal control environment.\u2022 Implement policies and procedures that support a sound cost structure.\u2022 Develop and implement administrative policies that align stores, transport, and registry functions with organizational objectives.\u2022 Plan and allocate resources strategically to ensure efficient utilization of vehicles, supplies, and records management systems.\u2022 Strengthen accountability and risk management through proper inventory control, transport monitoring, and secure record keeping.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience
\n\t\t\t\tQualifying Requirements\u2022 A Bachelor of Accounting Degree or equivalent.\u2022 A recognised tertiary qualification such as a Chartered Accountant or similar is a must.\u2022 A postgraduate business qualification such as an MBA\/MBL is an added advantage.\u2022 A minimum of 10 years\u2019 corporate working experience, at least 5 of which should have been at executive level.Key Competencies and Characteristics\u2022 A technically sound individual, with character to match.\u2022 Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.\u2022 High levels of social, emotional and political maturity.\u2022 Highest levels of integrity, transparency and honesty.\u2022 Must command market credibility and exhibit levels of gravitas commensurate with the standing of the role.<\/p>\n
