\n\t\t\t\tApplications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following posts.1. VICE-CHANCELLOR\u2019S OFFICE1.1 Director of Physical Planning, Works and Estates (1 Post)Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, the incumbent will be responsible for developing andoverseeing the implementation of the University\u2019s Campus Development and MaintenancePlans. The successful candidate will be appointed on a fixed-term performance-based contractfor a maximum period of four (4) years.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities
\n\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities\uf0b7 Oversee custody and maintenance of University Real Estate and Developments.\uf0b7 Provide professional technical support to stake holders in line with the UniversityStrategic Plan.\uf0b7 Develop work targets for the Physical Planning, Works and Estates Department inaccordance with Strategic Plan.\uf0b7 Produce reports to the Vice-Chancellor on the activities of Physical Planning, Works andEstates Directorate.\uf0b7 Plan, budget and account for resources for the Directorate.\uf0b7 Provide Secretarial services to the Campus Development Committee.\uf0b7 Supervise maintenance and upkeep of university buildings and equipment.\uf0b7 Supervise capital projects in the university.\uf0b7 Co-ordinate the execution of Works (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical).\uf0b7 Manage and plan the University\u2019s transport system.\uf0b7 Supervise and appraise staff.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience
\n\t\t\t\tCompetencies\uf0b7 Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.\uf0b7 Good communication skills.\uf0b7 Computer literacy, word processing, spread sheet and database-computer softwarepackages.\uf0b7 Knowledge in project management, strategic planning and budgeting.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience\uf0b7 BSc Honours Degree in Civil\/Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying,Town Planning or Construction Management.\uf0b7 Possession of a Masters Degree in the above disciplines is a distinct advantage.\uf0b7 At least five (5) years relevant post-qualification working experience at seniormanagement level.\uf0b7 Further, applicants should be registered with a relevant professional body.\uf0b7 Possession of a business-related qualification would be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
