{"id":5548,"date":"2026-05-25T22:02:23","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T22:02:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zimbabwe\/job\/legal-services-officer-1-post\/"},"modified":"2026-05-25T22:02:36","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T22:02:36","slug":"legal-services-officer-1-post","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zimbabwe\/job\/legal-services-officer-1-post\/","title":{"rendered":"Legal Services Officer (1 Post)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tApplications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following posts.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\uf0b7 Providing legal services and expert legal advice on matters relating to Universitydecisions, policies and plans.\uf0b7 Undertaking contract risk analysis.\uf0b7 Drafting and vetting contracts, agreements and other legal documents.\uf0b7 Managing legal matters, disputes, litigation and claims within the University.\uf0b7 Providing a comprehensive advisory service on the regulatory framework governingUniversity operations.\uf0b7 Providing legal opinions, negotiating contracts and other legal documentation.\uf0b7 Overseeing debt recovery processes.\uf0b7 Liaising with external legal advisors on behalf of the University and coordinatingassignments referred to external legal counsel.\uf0b7 Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance by the University.\uf0b7 Acting as a source of legal advice to University Business Units on matters relating torelevant legislation and regulations.\uf0b7 Overseeing administrative responsibilities for the smooth running of the legal function,including periodic reporting.\uf0b7 Maintaining a library of contract precedents.\uf0b7 Performing any other duties as may be assigned by Superiors from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience\uf0b7 Applicants must be in possession of a minimum of a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) orequivalent qualification.\uf0b7 A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Business Leadership will be anadded advantage, and candidates who are currently studying towards a Master\u2019s degreeare also encouraged to apply.\uf0b7 The successful candidate should possess sound knowledge of legal and commercial law,demonstrate strong understanding of legal processes, and have experience working in alegal environment.\uf0b7 In addition, applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years\u2019 hands-on experience inhandling corporate secretarial matters.\uf0b7 Candidates must also be members of a recognised professional body in Zimbabwe with atleast two (2) years\u2019 post-qualification experience.\uf0b7 Preference will be given to applicants with university or higher education institutionexperience.<\/p>\n<p>Personal Attributes\uf0b7 Strong legal knowledge and expertise.\uf0b7 Excellent oral and written communication skills.\uf0b7 High attention to detail.\uf0b7 Effective time management skills.\uf0b7 Objectivity and impartiality.\uf0b7 Ethical integrity.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tHow to Apply<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tConditions of ServiceAn attractive package which includes Medical Aid, Leave and Pension Benefits is offered, details of which willbe disclosed to shortlisted candidates only.Application ProcedureAll applications will be treated in strictest confidence.
