{"id":5644,"date":"2026-06-08T08:00:32","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T08:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zimbabwe\/job\/director-legal-services-1-post\/"},"modified":"2026-06-08T08:00:49","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T08:00:49","slug":"director-legal-services-1-post","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zimbabwe\/job\/director-legal-services-1-post\/","title":{"rendered":"Director Legal Services (1 Post)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tApplications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following post:VICE-CHANCELLOR&#8217;S OFFICEDirector Legal Services (1 Post)<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities\u2022 Providing legal services and expert legal advice on matters relating to University decisions, policies and plans;\u2022 Undertaking contract risk analysis;\u2022 Drafting and vetting of contracts, agreements and legal documents;\u2022 Managing legal matters, disputes, litigation and claims within the University;\u2022 Providing a comprehensive advisory service in the University, relating to the regulatory framework in its operations;\u2022 Providing legal opinions, negotiating contracts and other legal documentation;\u2022 Overseeing debt recovery processes; \u2022\u2022 Liaising with external legal advisors on behalf of the University and co-ordinating all assignments referred to external legal advisors;\u2022 Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance by the University;\u2022 Acting as a general source of advice to University Business Units on matters relating to relevant legislation and regulations;\u2022 Overseeing general administrative responsibilities for the smooth running of the legal function including periodic reporting;\u2022 Maintaining a library of contract precedents;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience\u2022 The incumbent should have a minimum of a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) or equivalent;\u2022 A Master&#8217;s degree in Law or Business would be an added advantage;\u2022 The successful candidate must possess knowledge of labour law or commercial law.A minimum offive (5) years hands-on experience in handling corporate secretarial or legal matters is a prerequisite.
