{"id":5686,"date":"2026-06-14T18:02:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-14T18:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zimbabwe\/job\/public-relations-and-community-participation-officer\/"},"modified":"2026-06-14T18:02:45","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T18:02:45","slug":"public-relations-and-community-participation-officer","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zimbabwe\/job\/public-relations-and-community-participation-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Relations and Community Participation Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tPUBLIC RELATIONS AND COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION OFFICERx 1-GRADE C5Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill a newly created post of Public Relations and Community Participation Officer in the Town Secretary&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tDuties and Responsibilities<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tDuties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Town Secretary, the individual Officer will be having the following duties and responsibilities:Handling all issues of planned publicity campaigns and public relations activities in liaison with Heads of various departments.\u2022Promoting the good will and positive image of Council.Rebranding Norton Town Council.\u2022 Managing the Council&#8217;s Communications, risk and opportunities with different clients and stakeholders.\u2022 Initiate and organize promotional events such as press conferences, open day exhibitions, tours and visits.Being the spokesperson for Council including attending to complaints.Developing a media relations strategyDesigning, writing and producing presentations, press releases, articles, leaflets, in-house journals, reports publicity brochures and information for websites.Arranging all consultative meetings and programming the Community engagement calendar.\u2022 Preparation of monthly and annual reports for the Town Secretary.Managing Council websites and all social media interactions.\u2022 Those who previously applied for the same post are encouraged to reapply.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tQualifications and Experience\u2022 A degree in Public Relations, Communication, Journalism, Media or related field.\u2022 AMaster&#8217;s degree would be an added advantage.\u2022 Proficiency in at least three languages preferably English, Shona or Ndebele is added advantage\u2022 At least three years post qualifying experience in Public Relations and community engagement.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tHow to Apply<br \/>\n\t\t\t\tTo ApplyInterested and suitably qualified candidates should send six clearly labelled applications indicating position applied for.
