Key Responsibilities
Conduct and sign off pre task risk assessment of the entire teams during their shift
Authorize blasting operations and ensure exclusion zones are secured
Enforce zero tolerance to safety violations
Emergency response coordinator
Complete and submit daily statutory reports to the mining manager
Execute the shift production plan
Manage interfaces between mining, drilling, geology, maintenance teams
Oversee all crew on shift
Address performance, conduct, or safety issues on shift
Conduct shift change meetings to ensure seamless handover and takeover
Mentor and develop other Junior Miners for succession planning
Review and approve timesheets for crews on shift
Requirements
Diploma in Mining Engineering
3 Years’ experience in an underground mine
Underground Blasting License
Strong understanding of geotechnical stability
Highest level of safety consciousness
Able write reports in English
