Sentebale is looking for 3 Community Health workers who can join the team to drive the mandate of creating sustainable solutions that address issues of health, socio-economic empowerment and climate resilience in Botswana through a project that aims to address the urgent health and human rights challenges faced by adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM), both in-school and out-of-school, in Botswana. Through a comprehensive approach to HIV prevention, this project will focus on HIV testing, condom education and distribution, stigma reduction, human rights advocacy, and the commemoration of World AIDS Day. The program will integrate Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) as a key tool for promoting rights-based programming, increasing accountability, and ensuring that services meet the needs of youth populations.
 
 
Applications are invited from suitable and qualified individuals for the position of Consultant Community Health Workers for the period of eight months in Gaborone.
 
 
Duties include
 
 
• Community mapping
• Facilitation of HIV/NCDs/GBV prevention messaging
• Screening for NCDs, GBV and STIs
• Referrals for HIV testing and counseling, post GBV care, STI treatment and care
• Follow-up referrals to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide narrative reports and financial receipts.
• Plan and prepare for all network club activities.
• Mobilize participants for sessions
• Facilitate all network club activities.
• Community mobilization and engagement
 
 
Qualifications/ Requirements
 
 
• BGCSE or equivalent, a certificate in community health care or public health education will be an added advantage
• At least 1 year of work experience in health care, community health, or social services field

DEPUTY ENGINEER OF RECORD
 
 
The key role of the EoR is to support the Mineral Residue Facilities Operational Team in meeting the requirements of the Technical Standard Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management – GISTM) over the life cycle of the facilities. This position is tenable at Jwaneng Mine in Jwaneng.
 
 
Qualification and Experience
 
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical or Hydraulics), Environmental Engineering, Engineering Geology or Mining /Metallurgy Engineering with specialty in mining geotechnics and/or mineral residue management and or Water Resources Hydrology
• Ten (10) years experience in similar role in undertaking sufficient roles in design, construction, monitoring and surveillance of tailings facilities.
• The Engineer must have strong geotechnical engineering background with added proficiency in site coordination, data analysis and report preparation for SCPTU to the level required for preparation of stability and dam breach reports.
• Registration with Professional Engineering Institution such as; (ERB – Botswana Engineers Registration Board) and/ or equivalent elsewhere.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
• To support the Operational Team in meeting the requirements of the Technical Standard (Global Industry Standard for Tailings Management -GISTM) over the life cycle of the facilities.
• Data analysis and report preparation for SCPTU to the level required for preparation of stability and dam breach reports.
• Reviewing, verifying, and signing all documents issued by the Client and any others related to the design, construction, monitoring and/or operation of the mineral residue deposit(s).

SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER – 2 YEARS CONTRACT
 
 
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
 
The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (the Authority) seeks to recruit an experienced Senior Legal Officer to join the Legal Team in the Office of the Board Secretary. This is a contract position where the incumbent’s role is to undertake legal research and provide legal advice to the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (the Authority) to ensure strict compliance with the PP Act and Regulations and other applicable laws in Botswana. The position reports to the Board Secretary.
 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Advises on all legal issues and prepares legal opinions to the Authority on procurement, regulatory compliance, contract, labour law, litigation issues, among others.
• Reviews, draft legal contracts, invitation to tenders (ITTs), manuals, circulars and guidelines as required in terms of the PP Act.
• Serves as Secretary to the Suspensions and Debarring Committee of any other Committee of the Authority and provides legal advice and administrative secretarial support to the Committee.
• Provides guidance to the Authority on corporate governance matters.
• Assists with enquiries from Regulatory Oversight Bodies.
• Facilitates capacity building on legal and public procurement matters.
• Oversees litigation of the Authority and liaises with External Attorneys as well as courts.
