    ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION – ONE POST
     
     
    Accountable to the Head of Department, Agricultural Education & Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Faculty of Agribusiness, Education & Extension, the incumbent will be responsible for the following, among others:
     
     
    JOB PURPOSE:
     
     
    • Provide academic leadership in the department and faculty which entails making original contributions to the discipline through research and/or scholarship.
    • Individually and collaboratively engages in teaching, research, academic leadership and development as well as services activities.
    • Participate in the supervision of student research projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
    • Initiate the development of educational policies and/or curriculum areas within the discipline, and maintenance of academic standards.
     
     
    REQUIREMENTS:
     
     
    • The candidates must meet the following minimum requirements, among others:
    • A minimum of a PhD in Agricultural Education or related field from a recognized university.
    • A Master’s degree in Agricultural Education or related field from a recognized university.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education or related field from a recognized university.
    • Extensive publications in a wide array of quality publication outlets and refereed journals. A minimum of 12 research products, at least eight (8) of these are refereed journal articles reflecting a spread of national, regional and international journals.
    • A minimum of five (5) years of lecturing experience in a university or equivalent should have served at a position of senior lecturer for at least three (3) years and has significant and original contribution to the discipline through research and/or scholarship.
    • Should have evidence of attraction of research grants from external sources.

    Responsibilities
     
    Hydraulic Specialist’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
     
     
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic systems of all designs.
    • Understand electronic systems that control the hydraulic system.
    • Perform routine maintenance to prevent downtime.
    • Be able to modify and upgrade systems on tipper trucks, cranes, earth moving equipment and refuse trucks.
    • Test hydraulic systems after repairs are carried out under load conditions.
    • Fabricate hydraulic components to fit trucks.
    • Inspect hydraulic systems to identify faults, leaks or malfunctions.
    • Repair and replace defective components such as power take off units, pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses and fittings.
    • Calibrate hydraulic pressures for optimal performance.
    • Have good brazing and welding skills. Confident in understanding, testing & diagnosing all electrical systems in all the vehicles.
     
     
    Requirements and skills
     
     
    • A certificate or Diploma in Auto Hydraulics from an accredited institution.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in hydraulic systems with reputable companies.
    • Class B driver’s license (EC drivers’ license is an added advantage).
    • Outstanding driving and mechanics skills.
    • Diligent with great attention to detail

  • IT FIELD SERVICES MANAGER

    Job Description
    We are looking for an IT Field Services Manager to oversee the delivery and performance of IT field services across multiple retail sites. This role is responsible for managing Field Consultants, ensuring timely assignment and resolution of service calls, monitoring vendor performance, and ensuring strict compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The successful candidate will have solid experience in IT infrastructure support within the retail sector, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational efficiency while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
     
    Key Responsibilities

    Team Management:

    Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT Field Consultants across various retail locations.
    Develop and implement training plans to ensure continuous skills improvement.
    Monitor team performance against set objectives, ensuring accountability and productivity.

    Service Delivery & Call Management:

    Assign and prioritize service calls to field teams, ensuring timely resolution.
    Monitor progress of assigned tickets to ensure adherence to SLA requirements.
    Act as an escalation point for unresolved or complex technical issues.

    Vendor Management:

    Manage and coordinate third-party vendors and service providers to ensure effective service delivery.
    Evaluate vendor performance against contractual obligations and SLAs.
    Negotiate improvements and resolve disputes when required.

    Compliance & SLA Monitoring:

    Ensure all IT support services adhere to defined SLAs, policies, and procedures.
    Track and report on SLA compliance, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
    Maintain documentation of processes, incidents, and solutions in line with compliance requirements.

    Infrastructure Support (Retail Sector):

    Oversee the support and maintenance of IT infrastructure across retail branches (POS systems, networking, servers, peripherals, etc.).
    Ensure minimal downtime and quick recovery in the event of system failures.
    Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize IT service delivery in retail environments.

     
    Qualifications & Experience

    Industry related qualification associated with the Job role.
    5–7 years’ experience in IT service delivery or IT support management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
    Proven experience in IT infrastructure support within the retail sector (POS systems, store networks, in-store hardware/software support).
    Strong background in SLA monitoring, vendor management, and IT service operations.
    Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (ITIL certification advantageous).
