The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting processes, financial reporting, reconciliations and day-to-day finance operations in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including data entry and record keeping.
Support the preparation and maintenance of financial records, invoices, and receipts.
Assist in basic financial reporting and the preparation of schedules and summaries.
Help with bank, cash or account reviews to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice tracking and follow-ups.
Assist with filing and organization of financial documents, both digital and physical.
Support compliance with internal procedures and basic regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the finance team on assigned tasks and ongoing accounting activities.
Provide general administrative support to the accounting and finance team as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping and financial processes.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) will be an added advantage.
Awareness of Kenyan tax regulations, including KRA compliance, VAT, PAYE and statutory filings, is a plus.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when handling financial records.
Proactive problem-solving skills and a positive, self-motivated attitude.
Professionalism, integrity and a strong sense of confidentiality.
