Role Overview
The Commercial Manager will drive Paykit’s revenue growth through enterprise partnerships, merchant acquisition, and strategic deals across the fintech and digital commerce ecosystem.
This is a commercially focused role for someone who thrives in closing complex fintech partnerships and building scalable revenue pipelines.
The role will lead Paykit’s commercial execution while overseeing an existing team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) and Business Development Officers (BDOs) responsible for pipeline development and market expansion.
The Commercial Manager will work closely with leadership, product, technology, operations, and compliance teams to convert commercial opportunities into successful integrations and long term revenue generating partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Deal Origination & Revenue Growth
Identify, pursue, and close high value partnerships with fintechs, financial institutions, digital platforms, and enterprise merchants
Lead commercial negotiations and structure partnership agreements including revenue share, referral, and platform integration models
Own the full deal lifecycle from opportunity identification through negotiation and contract execution
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of enterprise opportunities aligned with Paykit’s growth strategy
Deliver consistent progress against revenue targets and commercial milestones
Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Expansion
Develop strategic partnerships across the payments ecosystem including banks, fintech platforms, aggregators, and digital commerce platforms
Identify distribution partnerships that can accelerate merchant acquisition and transaction volume growth
Represent Paykit in ecosystem engagements, industry forums, and strategic partner discussions
Build strong relationships with senior decision makers across the fintech and payments landscape
Commercial Leadership & Team Management
Lead and manage Paykit’s commercial team consisting of Business Development Managers and Business Development Officers
Set commercial targets and performance expectations across the team
Support the team in developing pipeline opportunities and closing deals
Provide guidance on enterprise deal structuring and partner negotiations
Implement structured pipeline management and forecasting processes
Client Growth & Account Expansion
Develop strong relationships with strategic merchants and enterprise partners
Identify opportunities to expand revenue within existing partnerships
Serve as the commercial escalation point for key clients and strategic accounts
Work closely with product and operations teams to ensure successful partner onboarding and integrations
Market Intelligence & Commercial Reporting
Monitor developments across the digital payments ecosystem including competitor activity, regulatory changes, and emerging market opportunities
Provide regular reporting on pipeline progress, revenue performance, and commercial KPIs
Share market insights with product and leadership teams to inform Paykit’s partnership and product strategy
Requirements
Experience
Minimum 6 years experience in fintech, payments, or financial services commercial roles
Proven track record of closing enterprise partnerships and generating revenue growth
Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and partnership structures
Experience working with payment infrastructure such as mobile money, payment gateways, or financial platforms
Experience managing business development or sales teams
Preferred Experience
Demonstrated experience closing partnerships with fintechs, banks, payment aggregators, or large digital platforms
Experience selling API based payment products or financial infrastructure solutions
Skills & Competencies
Strong commercial instincts with the ability to identify and convert high value opportunities
Excellent negotiation and deal structuring capability
Strong stakeholder management and ability to engage senior decision makers
Leadership capability with experience managing and mentoring commercial teams
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced fintech environment
Knowledge
Understanding of digital payment flows including transaction processing, settlement, and reconciliation
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting payments including KYC, AML, and PCI DSS considerations
Exposure to API driven fintech platforms and payment integrations
