Key Responsibilities

Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including journals, accruals,  reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting. 
Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial reports and management information  reports. 
Maintain accurate financial records in Tally and support improvements in finance  processes and reporting accuracy. 
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper documentation, approvals,  and follow-up of outstanding balances. 
Manage bank reconciliations, routine cashbook control, and general financial  housekeeping. 
Prepare and process statutory returns including PAYE, VAT, SHIF, NSSF, and other  applicable filings, ensuring timely submission. 
Support audit readiness by maintaining schedules, reconciliations, and proper 
documentation for internal and external review. 
Provide financial control over procurement transactions, ensuring cost control, policy 
compliance, and proper approvals. 
Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal  requirements. 
Participate in stock counts and inventory reconciliations, and ensure variances are 
investigated and resolved.  Support basic margin and costing analysis where required. 
Supervise and guide the Accounts Assistant in day-to-day finance operations. 
Contribute to the improvement of internal controls, finance processes, and reporting  discipline across the business.

Timely month-end close
Accurate monthly financial reports
Up-to-date statutory filings and remittances
Clean and complete reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts 
Accurate payroll processing
Improved control environment and finance discipline
Well-maintained audit support schedules and documentation

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent
5–7 years’ relevant finance experience
Strong working knowledge of IFRS, IAS, and Kenyan tax/statutory requirements
Experience in manufacturing is required 
Exposure to inventory-heavy environments is preferred 
Exposure to EPZ/export businesses will be an added advantage 
Experience using Tally is preferred
