The Head of Marketing & Communications – East Africa is responsible for defining and executing the regional marketing and communications strategy to drive brand growth, customer engagement and commercial performance across the East African markets. The role ensures strong alignment between corporate brand strategy and local market execution, while strengthening brand equity, reputation and customer loyalty for the Carrefour brand and Majid Al Futtaim Retail.
ROLE PROFILE

Develop and lead the regional marketing and communications strategy to drive brand growth, customer traffic, and commercial performance across East Africa.
Oversee integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, in-store, and traditional channels to support promotions, new store openings, and commercial initiatives.
Strengthen the Carrefour brand positioning by ensuring consistent brand identity, messaging, and customer experience across all markets and touchpoints.
Drive customer acquisition and loyalty initiatives, leveraging CRM, data analytics, and targeted marketing programs.
Collaborate with commercial, operations, and e-commerce teams to align marketing initiatives with business priorities and revenue growth.
Manage marketing budgets, agencies, and external partners to ensure effective campaign execution and strong return on investment.
Lead and develop the marketing and communications team across East Africa, building capabilities and ensuring high performance.
Lead market insights and customer analytics, translating consumer trends and data into actionable marketing strategies that improve campaign effectiveness and customer experience.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce or any relevant field
MBA in the same field is an advantage
10-15 years of experience in marketing and communications
Strong analytical and technical skills
