Reflective, collaborative educators with strong expertise in inclusive education, curriculum differentiation, Humanities and Literacy instruction, and Kenyan Sign Language. Candidates should be committed to working within a diverse school community and contributing to a shared culture of learning, adaptability, and care.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or Bachelor of Education with Certification in Special Needs Education
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in an inclusive or special education setting
Demonstrated experience in Humanities, Literacy, and Kenyan Sign Language instruction
Valid TSC Number for Kenyan applicants
Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and learner support strategies
Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong alignment with Woodland Star’s mission and values

Key Responsibilities:

Lead teacher for Kenyan Sign Language classes across the high school, including planning, teaching, and assessment
Collaborate with subject teachers to co-plan, co-deliver, and co-assess lessons aligned to curriculum goals and inclusive education principles
Adapt and differentiate learning materials and instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs
Support the development of conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Implement mastery-based learning and assessment approaches to ensure all learners can engage meaningfully
Act as a case manager for individual learning plans or support updates with the designated case manager
Monitor, document, and communicate learner progress with teachers, families, and the learning support team
Provide targeted small group or individual support during lessons where needed
Contribute to a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that fosters curiosity and independence
Participate in professional learning, collaborative planning, and whole school initiatives
