Undertaking general and specialized diagnosis, care, treatment and rehabilitation of patients in obstetrics and gynaecology;
Providing comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, including management of high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies;
Diagnosing and managing gynaecological conditions, including performing specialized gynaecological and obstetric surgical procedures;
Providing psycho-social support and counselling to patients and their families on reproductive and maternal health issues;
Providing clinical services to patients in maternity, gynaecology wards and theatres;
Training, consulting and performing surgeries in various health facilities, including carrying out forensic and medico-legal services related to obstetric and gynaecological practice;
Coordinating disease surveillance, prevention and control related to maternal and reproductive health;
Coordinating health education and promotion activities on meternal, newborn and reproductive health;
Implementing maternal, newborn and reproductive health projects and programmes;
Maintaining up-to-date maternal and reproductive health information systems;
Monitoring the provision of obstetric and gynaecological treatment and care services;
Undertaking clinical audits, maternal death reviews and health research;
Analysing medical reports and maternal health data.
Requirements & Qualifications
Possesses a minimum of three 3 year’s experience serving in a comparable position within the public or private sector.
Master’s degree in obstetrics and gynaecology or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the medical practitioners and dentists board;
Bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery mbchb degree from an institution recognized by the medical practitioners and dentists board mpdb;
Certificate of registration by the medical practitioners and dentists board;
Valid practicing licence from the medical practitioners and dentists board;
Certificate in strategic leadership development programme lasting not less than six 6 weeks from a recognized institution;
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
Demonstrated professional competence and professional capability as reflected in work performance and results.
