Company Overview:
Our client is a leading multinational trading and investment company with operations across multiple industries, including manufacturing, energy, food, chemicals, infrastructure, and technology. The organization has a strong global presence and its East Africa office supports regional business development, market research, and operational coordination.

They are looking to hire a Business Liaison Officer to provide administrative and operational support to senior leadership while ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the office.

The role includes executive support, office administration, IT facilities coordination, and communication with regional and international stakeholders. The successful candidate will also support various business functions and should have at least two years of experience in administration, business development, trading, or executive support, with strong organizational and communication skills.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Coffee related Export coordination (supporting and/or liaising the shipping arrangements including documentation for headquarters).
Support liaison activities other than Coffee related such as Machinery, Textile, Metals and minerals, Energy and Chemicals, and projects or agendas that occur from time to time.
IT facility Management (Coordination with IT vendors/TOKGV)
Headquarters information Update (office registration related)
Compilation of office general data required for SDGs reporting at Headquarters.
Work Permit application for expats in the office (Coordination with service provider(s))

Responsibilities
Collect and report information accurately and promptly to both the Headquarters and Nairobi Office, as assigned.
Engage in liaison, coordination, and market research for Headquarters projects, collaborating with Nairobi Office members.
Maintain and develop relationships with local industries and suppliers in East Africa.
Facilitate Headquarters trade of food materials in East Africa.
Assist in promoting food items to maximize market access for established off takers in Japan and other countries.
Analyze the market, identify potential customers, and build relationships on behalf of the Headquarters.
Gather information to help the Headquarters estimate market size and develop entry strategies for East Africa.
Coordinate between suppliers and Headquarters to ensure smooth trade transactions, based on product knowledge, customer requirements and knowledge of shipping operations or documentation.
Identify and communicate new or emerging business opportunities to the Headquarters.
Undertake other projects and duties across various sectors (textiles, machinery, metals, minerals, energy, food, general products, real estate, ICT), as assigned by Nairobi Office or Headquarters.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in marketing or business administration).
Approximately 2 years of relevant work experience.
Basic knowledge of export/import business administration and IT infrastructure (can be learned after joining).
Experience in shipping arrangements, including shipping document administration and INCOTERMS(can be learned after joining).
High integrity and understanding of compliance, including IT security.
Logical thinking and excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Strong time management, judgment, and teamwork.
Business acumen, report writing, and presentation skills.
Flexibility and interpersonal skills for office work and business networking.
Outgoing, culturally adaptable, and able to work in a multicultural environment.
Awareness of sustainability and cost management.
Proficiency in mathematics and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload.
Creativity, problem-solving, and responsibility.
Willingness to learn and address challenges in new areas.
