Finance Intern, SSA. ‘This role may be based in any one of the following locations: Kenya, Nigeria, or Mauritius.’
Support the SSA CFO and the Sub‑Saharan Africa Finance function across all finance towers, contributing to financial planning, reporting, analysis, and operational coordination across the cluster. The role provides hands-on exposure to core finance processes (controlling, RTR, intercompany, treasury, payables, collections) while also supporting administrative coordination, project tracking (PMO), and cross-functional alignment. The intern plays a key role in ensuring visibility, structure, and follow-through across finance activities, supporting both operational excellence and alignment with Finance Focus Areas and the DGF strategy.

Responsibilities
In this Finance Intern, SSA position, you will assist in:
Finance & Controlling Support
Assist in preparation and consolidation of financial reports and management insights
Work together with the Cluster Controller on various initiatives to support with business development and growth as well as with Operational Excellence
Support financial planning and analysis activities, forecasting, and performance tracking across the cluster
Support monitoring of financial performance to enhance transparency and support decision making
Assist in tracking key finance areas, including: Cash flow and treasury; Working capital and collections (OTC); Payables (PTP); RTR and intercompany topics
Support data collection, validation, and follow-ups with country finance teams
Executive & Administrative Support to SSA CFO
Prepare presentations, reports, and briefing materials for SSA CFO and leadership discussions
Coordinate meetings, agendas, and action tracking
Support structured follow-up on key topics across SSA finance teams
Assist in organizing finance reviews, governance meetings, and workshops
PMO & Project Coordination
Support tracking and coordination of finance initiatives and transformation projects
Maintain project trackers, timelines, and status updates
Follow up with stakeholders to ensure delivery against agreed actions and deadlines
Support preparation of updates to management and key stakeholders
Contribute to improving structure, organization, and discipline across ongoing initiatives
Cross-Functional & Strategy Alignment
Work closely with Strategy, Business, and other support functions
Support alignment of finance initiatives with DGF strategy and cluster priorities
Assist in preparation of materials for business reviews and strategic discussions
Support coordination across multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity
Communication & Coordination
Support communication across SSA finance teams by consolidating updates and tracking deliverables
Act as a coordination point to ensure clear follow-ups and accountability
Help improve visibility of key topics, risks, and priorities
Continuous Improvement
Support finance projects aimed at improving processes, reporting, and efficiency
Contribute ideas to enhance consistency, standardization, and digital ways of working
Assist in tracking improvements and implementation progress

Cash Flow Management: Monitoring liquidity and working capital
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Well versed in Microsoft Teams
Interest in finance operations, controlling, and business partnering
