Job Role
The Head of Maintenance is responsible for leading the maintenance department to ensure optimal performance of equipment, facilities, and infrastructure. The role involves developing preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, managing teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Purpose of the Role
Ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Strengthen compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Optimize resource allocation and maintenance budgets.
Improve operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Execution
Develop and implement maintenance schedules and preventive programs.
Supervise maintenance staff and contractors.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
Resource & Budget Management
Manage budgets and optimize resource allocation.
Ensure cost-effective maintenance operations.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular inspections and audits.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
Track KPIs and performance metrics.
Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Prepare maintenance reports and dashboards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
Minimum 8+ years’ experience in maintenance management.
Project management certification PMP or equivalent is an advantage.
Competencies
Mechanical/electrical maintenance expertise.
Preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
Vendor and contractor management.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
