About the job
South B Hospital is seeking a qualified, experienced, and patient-focused
Orthopaedic Surgeon
to join our clinical team and provide high-quality musculoskeletal care.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with musculoskeletal injuries, disorders, and diseases.
Perform elective and emergency orthopaedic surgical procedures in accordance with established clinical standards.
Manage fractures, trauma cases, degenerative joint conditions, congenital deformities, and other orthopaedic conditions.
Conduct outpatient consultations, inpatient ward rounds, and post-operative follow-up care.
Collaborate with anaesthetists, theatre staff, physiotherapists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Participate in emergency and on-call rosters as required.
Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBChB or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Master of Medicine MMed in Orthopaedic Surgery or an equivalent postgraduate qualification recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council KMPDC.
Valid practicing licence from the KMPDC.
Minimum of three 3 years’ post-specialization clinical experience in a busy hospital setting is preferred.
