An officer at this level shall:
Provide technical support and assistance to faculty, researchers, and students in laboratory settings;
Operate and maintain specialized equipment and instrumentation according to established protocols and safety guidelines;
Manage inventory and supplies, including ordering, receiving, and organizing materials necessary for laboratory activities;
Assist in the development of laboratory manuals, instructional materials, and safety procedures for academic courses and research projects;
Troubleshoot technical issues and perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance;
Ensure proper arrangements of workshops/laboratory;
Assist in carrying out various laboratory/workshop including field activities; and
Perform any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, one must have:
Higher National Diploma in relevant discipline or its equivalent from a recognized Institution with at least three 3 years relevant post qualification laboratory working experience,
OR,
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline or its equivalent from a recognized Institution; and
Computer literacy.
