Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer – Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will prepare estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical service projects while supporting service operations using Field Service Management FSM software . The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and be comfortable working with technology and estimating platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical service work.
Use FSM software to manage estimates, work orders, and customer records.
Review service requests and estimate labor, materials, and project costs.
Coordinate with field technicians to gather job information and ensure estimate accuracy.
Support dispatch and scheduling of technicians when required.
Monitor and update estimates, work orders, and project documentation.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and internal teams regarding project progress.
Identify opportunities to improve estimating and service operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or home service operations.
Experience preparing cost estimates, quotations, or service estimates.
Experience using Field Service Management FSM software is highly preferred.
Experience with estimating, dispatch, or service management software.
Strong understanding of residential or commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Added Advantage
Experience using similar Field Service Management FSM platforms.
Experience in estimating and dispatching for HVAC, plumbing, or electrical service businesses.
Knowledge of labor costing, material pricing, and project estimation.
Experience coordinating field technicians and service schedules.
Comfortable working with cloud-based business systems and multiple technology platforms.
