Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and analytical ESG Research Analyst, Manufacturing Sector to join our team.
The successful candidate will research and analyse environmental, social and governance issues affecting manufacturing companies and industrial sectors. The role involves reviewing company disclosures, analysing ESG data, identifying risks and opportunities, benchmarking companies, monitoring regulatory developments, and preparing high-quality research reports.
We are looking for someone who combines strong research and analytical skills with a good understanding of ESG, sustainability and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct ESG research and assessments on manufacturing companies and industrial sectors.
Review annual reports, sustainability reports, ESG disclosures, company policies and regulatory filings.
Analyse environmental, social and governance performance using quantitative and qualitative information.
Identify material ESG risks, opportunities, gaps and emerging trends.
Assess company performance in areas such as:
Greenhouse gas emissions and carbon management.
Energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Waste, water and pollution management.
Climate risk and decarbonisation.
Occupational health and safety.
Labour practices and human rights.
Community and stakeholder relations.
Corporate governance, ethics and compliance.
Conduct peer comparisons and industry benchmarking.
Monitor ESG, sustainability, climate and regulatory developments affecting the manufacturing sector.
Review company disclosures against relevant sustainability standards and frameworks.
Support ESG assessments, ratings, risk assessments and due diligence assignments.
Collect, organise and analyse ESG and sustainability data.
Prepare company research notes, sector reports, presentations, dashboards and briefing materials.
Contribute to ESG and sustainability research and thought-leadership publications.
Participate in client and stakeholder engagements where required.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as:
Engineering.
Environmental Science or Environmental Management.
Sustainability.
Economics.
Finance or Accounting.
Business Administration.
Industrial Management.
Statistics or Data Analytics.
Public Policy.
A related discipline.
A relevant Master’s degree will be an advantage.
Experience
The preferred candidate should have 3 to 7 years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
ESG research or analysis.
Sustainability.
Manufacturing or industrial operations.
Environmental management.
Sustainability consulting.
Climate change or carbon management.
Industrial or sector research.
Investment or equity research.
Risk management.
ESG assessment, ratings or sustainability reporting.
Experience working with or researching manufacturing and industrial companies will be a strong advantage.
Required Skills and Knowledge
The successful candidate should have:
Strong research and analytical skills.
Good understanding of ESG and sustainability issues.
Understanding of manufacturing or industrial operations.
Knowledge of climate risk, carbon emissions and sustainability metrics.
Familiarity with sustainability reporting standards and frameworks such as IFRS S1 and S2, ISSB, GRI, SASB and the GHG Protocol.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
