About the Role
The Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for the complete management of fixed assets across SSGL Group.
This role ensures accurate documentation, tracking, and reporting of asset acquisitions, usage, transfers, and disposals in line with company policy and IFRS.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management & Documentation:
Maintain and update the group-wide Fixed Asset Register
Ensure timely capitalization, tagging, and coding of all new assets
Record asset movements, transfers, and disposals.
Verification & Reconciliation:
Conduct periodic physical verification of assets across all locations
Reconcile physical assets with the register and General Ledger
Investigate and resolve variances.
Reporting & Compliance:
Compute and post monthly depreciation in accordance with IFRS
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports
Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
Policy & Process:
Develop and enforce policies on asset acquisition, use, and disposal
Liaise with Procurement, Operations, and IT for asset control.
Qualifications
B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
ACA / ACCA is an advantage
3-5 years experience in Fixed Asset Accounting, preferably in a multi-entity group
Proficient in ERP systems and Advanced Excel.
Key Skills:
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Knowledge of IFRS and internal controls
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Integrity and ability to work across multiple sites.
