Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and results-driven Human Resources Officer to take full responsibility for the Human Resources function of our manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will lead recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, and general HR administration while ensuring effective workforce management and compliance with Nigerian labour laws.
Key Responsibilities
Take full charge of the end-to-end recruitment and selection process, including job advertising, CV screening, interviewing, onboarding, and employee documentation.
Maintain and update employee records, personnel files, and the staff nominal roll.
Manage probation reviews, employee confirmations, leave administration, attendance monitoring, disciplinary processes, promotions, and employee exits.
Coordinate performance management activities, including KPI administration, employee appraisals, and salary review recommendations.
Coordinate staff training, induction programmes, and employee engagement initiatives.
Handle employee relations matters, grievance management, conflict resolution, and provide HR guidance.
Liaise with department heads on workforce planning and manpower requirements.
Oversee the administration of both permanent and casual employees.
Monitor attendance, absenteeism, overtime, and leave records.
Prepare periodic HR reports and provide management with relevant HR recommendations.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, and Nigerian labour laws while maintaining accurate HR documentation.
Ensure all required documents and records are readily available and properly organized during regulatory inspections.
Ensure the effective coordination of Christmas bonuses for both staff and casual workers.
Ensure the factory premises and restrooms are kept clean at all times by coordinating the activities of the factory cleaners.
Promote employee engagement and enforce company policies and workplace discipline.
Perform other HR and administrative duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI is an added advantage but is not mandatory.
Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
Sound knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
