Job Description
Overview
The Primary School Teacher supports pupils in building strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills, while nurturing confidence, curiosity, and good character in a safe and engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess clear, engaging lessons that meet the school curriculum and learning objectives.
Create a warm, structured classroom that promotes respect, responsibility, and active participation.
Use a variety of teaching methods, activities, and resources to support different learning styles and abilities.
Monitor and record pupils’ progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to pupils and parents.
Maintain open communication with parents and colleagues to support each child’s academic and personal growth.
Uphold all school policies, including behaviour, safeguarding, and assessment guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Teaching qualification and relevant classroom experience at the primary level.
Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
Personal Attributes
Passionate about teaching and child development.
Patient, organised, and attentive to detail.
Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
