Job Description

Overall Purpose of the Role
To provide technical engineering support for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability, and optimization of static and rotating equipment within plant operations, ensuring equipment integrity, safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering support for static and rotating equipment in oil & gas, petrochemical, or fertilizer facilities.
Perform technical assessment, troubleshooting, and reliability analysis of pumps, compressors, exchangers, pressure vessels, and related equipment.
Review and interpret P&IDs, Mechanical Data Sheets MDS, equipment datasheets, specifications, and engineering drawings.
Develop and review equipment specifications, technical requisitions, datasheets, and vendor documentation.
Provide technical input into maintenance strategies, shutdowns, turnarounds, and modification projects.
Ensure equipment designs and maintenance activities comply with applicable API, ASME, ISO, and industry standards.
Liaise with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Process, and Project teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
Review vendor drawings, calculations, manuals, and technical documentation
Key Equipment Exposure
The successful candidate must have practical experience working with:
Rotating Equipment:
Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
Compressors
Mechanical seals and associated auxiliaries
Drivers, couplings, bearings, and lubrication systems
Rotating equipment alignment and troubleshooting
Static Equipment:
Heat exchangers
Pressure vessels
Storage tanks
Piping and associated static components
Valves and mechanical equipment
Required Technical Knowledge:
Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs and Mechanical Data Sheets MDS.
Good understanding of equipment datasheets and mechanical specifications.
Knowledge of equipment inspection, maintenance, reliability, and troubleshooting.
Understanding of mechanical integrity and equipment reliability principles.
Familiarity with relevant API and ASME standards.
Ability to review engineering drawings, vendor documents, and technical reports.
Mandatory Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
6–10 years of relevant engineering experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer facilities.
Proven hands-on experience with pumps and compressors.
Demonstrable experience with heat exchangers and other static equipment.
Strong knowledge of P&IDs, MDS, equipment datasheets, and mechanical specifications.
Experience working in plant operations, maintenance, projects, commissioning, or turnaround environments.
