    Role Summary

    Key Responsibilities
    Curriculum Delivery & Instructional Excellence:

    Key Competencies & Qualifications
    Required Experience & Education:
    Degree: Bachelor’s Degree B.Ed/B.Sc in Physical and Health Education, Human Kinetics, Sports Science, or a related field.
    Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years teaching PHE or coaching sports in a reputable early childhood or primary school setting.
    Professional Certification: TRCN Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria certification is preferred.
    Safety Training: Current First Aid and CPR certification is a strong advantage.

    Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons for individual students or small groups, covering instruments such as Violin, Keyboard, Guitar, Saxophone, and Vocal training.
    Implement DTA’s SHRID niche, particularly focusing on:
    Driving Skill Acquisition in musical performance, theory, and appreciation.
    Applying Individualized Teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles, skill levels, and musical interests.
    Promoting clear Diction and vocal clarity in singing and musical communication.
    Utilize a variety of teaching methods, musical exercises, and repertoire to make music accessible, enjoyable, and challenging for all pupils.
    Set clear learning objectives for each lesson and provide constructive feedback to students to support their musical progress.
    Prepare pupils for internal performances, school events, and external music examinations or competitions as appropriate.
    Assessment & Reporting:
    Design and administer appropriate assessments to evaluate student understanding of musical concepts, technical proficiency on instruments, and vocal performance.
    Analyze assessment data to identify learning gaps, inform instructional adjustments, and provide targeted support to students.
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, musical progress, and performance grades.
    Prepare comprehensive progress reports for parents, highlighting musical achievements and areas for development.
    Classroom / Studio Management & Environment:
    Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment conducive to musical exploration and practice.
    Implement effective management strategies to ensure an orderly and respectful learning atmosphere during lessons.
    Encourage active participation, creative expression, and a love for music among students.
    Ensure musical instruments and equipment are properly cared for, maintained, and organized.
    Student Welfare & Support:
    Monitor the academic and social-emotional well-being of students, identifying and addressing any concerns promptly.
    Provide individualized support and encouragement for students who require additional assistance in their musical journey.
    Collaborate with parents, support staff, and other teachers to ensure holistic development and address student needs.
    Serve as a Form Tutor / Class Teacher as assigned, overseeing general welfare and academic progress of a designated class, which may include teaching other subjects.
    Professional Development & Collaboration:
    Actively participate in departmental meetings, school-wide professional development sessions, and training programs, particularly those related to music education and performance.
    Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, develop curriculum materials, and enhance the overall academic and arts program.

    Job Summary
    The Quality Assurance Officer at Discovering Talents Academy DTA plays a critical role in ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality education and operational standards across all academic and non-academic functions.
    This position is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing the effectiveness of DTA’s programs and processes, ensuring alignment with the school’s core mission to “create an atmosphere of fun where kids can enjoy being kids,” its vision to “discover and bring out the uniqueness in every child,” and the implementation of its SHRID niche Skill Acquisition, Handwriting, Reading, Individualized Teaching, Diction. The Quality Assurance Officer will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and upholding DTA’s commitment to excellence.
    Key Responsibilities
    Academic & Pedagogical Quality Assurance:
    Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks, policies, and procedures for all academic programs and teaching methodologies.
    Conduct regular classroom observations to assess teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and adherence to individualized teaching approaches.
    Monitor the consistent implementation of Nelson Handwriting and the effectiveness of reading programs designed to foster a “Love for Reading.”
    Evaluate the integration of Skill Acquisition programs into the curriculum and their impact on student development.
    Assess the promotion of correct diction and articulate communication among staff and pupils.
    Provide constructive feedback and support to teachers and department heads to enhance pedagogical practices and curriculum delivery.
    Curriculum & Assessment Oversight:
    Review and evaluate curriculum content and lesson plans to ensure alignment with DTA’s philosophy, national standards, and the SHRID niche.
    Monitor assessment practices to ensure they are fair, valid, reliable, and effectively measure student learning outcomes, including the demonstration of diverse knowledge, talents, and abilities.
    Analyze assessment data to identify areas for academic improvement and inform targeted interventions.
    Policy & Standard Compliance:
    Ensure school policies, particularly those related to academics, student welfare, and staff conduct, are consistently understood and adhered to by all stakeholders.
    Conduct regular audits of educational and operational processes to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
    Identify gaps in policy implementation and recommend corrective actions.
    Performance Monitoring & Evaluation Staff:
    Work closely with the Human Resources Officer HRO and department heads to monitor the effectiveness of staff performance appraisal processes, ensuring they are free, fair, and contribute to growth.
    Utilize the DTA software’s “Breakdown” and “History” features to identify collective training needs and track staff development initiatives.
    Advise management on areas requiring professional development based on quality assurance findings.
    Continuous Improvement & Reporting:
    Lead initiatives for continuous improvement based on quality assurance findings, internal audits, and feedback mechanisms.
    Prepare comprehensive quality assurance reports for the Head of School and management, detailing findings, recommendations, and progress on improvement plans.
    Monitor the implementation of recommended improvements and evaluate their impact.
    Stakeholder Engagement:
    Collaborate with department heads, teachers, parents, and students to gather feedback on educational quality and address concerns.
    Promote a culture of quality and accountability throughout the DTA community.
