    Job Description

    Job Summary
    The Store Auditor is responsible for safeguarding the company’s inventory by ensuring that all stock movements, storage practices, documentation, and inventory records are accurate and comply with Uncle Stan’s Foods’ policies and procedures. The role conducts regular and surprise audits of the Central Store to detect discrepancies, prevent losses, and strengthen inventory controls.
    Key Responsibilities
    Inventory Audit
    Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock counts.
    Verify physical stock against inventory records and ERP/system balances.
    Investigate and report stock shortages, overages, and unexplained variances.
    Perform cycle counts on high-value and fast-moving items.
    Conduct surprise stock audits when required.
    Goods Receiving Audit
    Verify that all goods received match approved Purchase Orders POs, supplier invoices, and Goods Received Notes GRNs.
    Ensure quantities, quality, expiry dates, and specifications are correct before stock is accepted.
    Confirm that all receipts are properly documented and authorized.
    Identify and report discrepancies immediately.
    Stock Issuance Audit
    Audit all stock issued to the Central Kitchen and retail outlets.
    Verify that all stock issues are supported by approved Store Requisition Forms SRFs.
    Ensure issued quantities match approved requests.
    Monitor unauthorized or excessive stock withdrawals.
    Storage & Inventory Control
    Ensure products are stored according to company standards.
    Verify compliance with FIFO First In, First Out and FEFO First Expired, First Out where applicable.
    Inspect storage conditions, including temperature, cleanliness, pest control, and organization.
    Ensure expired, damaged, or obsolete stock is properly identified, segregated, and documented.
    Documentation & Compliance
    Review stock cards, inventory ledgers, and system records for accuracy.
    Verify that all stock movements are recorded promptly.
    Ensure proper filing of inventory documents.
    Confirm compliance with inventory control policies and audit procedures.
    Loss Prevention
    Monitor for theft, pilferage, fraud, and unauthorized stock movements.
    Investigate inventory variances and identify root causes.
    Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
    Report suspected misconduct or control breaches to the Head of Audit.
    Reporting
    Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly audit reports.
    Highlight inventory risks, recurring issues, and process weaknesses.
    Track implementation of corrective actions.
    Escalate significant findings promptly.
    Process Improvement
    Recommend improvements to inventory control systems.
    Assist in strengthening internal controls and stock management procedures.
    Participate in inventory process reviews and system improvements.
    Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
    2 to 4 years of experience in internal audit, inventory control, warehouse operations, or retail/QSR environments.
    Experience with inventory management systems or ERP software is an advantage.
    Required Skills
    Strong inventory auditing and reconciliation skills.
    Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management practices.
    Excellent analytical and investigative abilities.
    High attention to detail and accuracy.
    Good report writing and documentation skills.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory/ERP systems.

    Key Responsibilities
    Operational Compliance
    Conduct daily audits of the central kitchen operations.
    Verify compliance with approved Standard Operating Procedures SOPs.
    Ensure all recipes and production processes are strictly followed.
    Confirm that production schedules are adhered to.
    Monitor staff compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
    Inventory & Stock Audit
    Perform daily physical verification of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
    Reconcile physical stock with inventory records.
    Investigate stock shortages, overages, and unexplained variances.
    Audit stock issuance from the central store to production.
    Monitor stock rotation using the FIFO First In, First Out method.
    Ensure expired or damaged products are properly documented and disposed of.
    Production Audit
    Verify production quantities against approved production plans.
    Confirm ingredient usage aligns with approved recipes.
    Monitor yield and identify production losses.
    Audit batch records and production documentation.
    Verify portion sizes and product consistency.
    Cost Control
    Monitor food cost variances.
    Identify excessive waste and recommend corrective actions.
    Audit consumption of high-value ingredients.
    Verify that production losses remain within approved limits.
    Assist management in reducing food costs through operational improvements.
    Quality Assurance
    Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.
    Verify product weight, size, taste, and presentation.
    Ensure products meet Uncle Stan’s Foods’ quality standards.
    Report quality deviations immediately.
    Waste & Loss Control
    Audit all kitchen waste.
    Verify reasons for product spoilage and disposal.
    Investigate excessive waste.
    Monitor staff adherence to waste control procedures.
    Report suspected theft or misuse of company resources.
    Documentation & Reporting
    Prepare daily audit reports.
    Document audit findings with evidence where applicable.
    Track recurring operational issues.
    Submit recommendations for process improvements.
    Follow up on implementation of corrective actions.
    Compliance
    Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
    Verify cleanliness of production equipment and work areas.
    Monitor compliance with company health and safety policies.
    Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Food Science, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    2 to 4 years of experience in internal audit, inventory control, restaurant operations, or food production.
    Experience in a Quick Service Restaurant QSR, food manufacturing, or central kitchen environment is an advantage.
    Required Skills
