Description

As a Consultant Microbiologist, you play a central role in supporting both clinicians and patients through thoughtful, expert consultation and the delivery of a dependable pathology service.
This role combines specialist insight with the day‑to‑day leadership needed to guide a high‑performing laboratory environment.
You will take the lead in shaping a service where people feel supported, equipped to grow, and confident in the quality of results that influence critical care decisions.

Role Requirements

To thrive in this role, you bring the essential medical and specialist credentials that support sound clinical judgement and responsible practice.
You hold an MBChB, complemented either a M.Med (Pathology) or FC Path SA (Microbiology), and you are registered with the HPCSA as a Specialist in Pathology in Microbiology.
These qualifications ensure that the service you provide is rooted in professional expertise, ethical standards and a commitment to continuous improvement.
