Requirements:
Grade 10
Grade 12 will be an added advantage
Machine Operator Competency Certificate
Relevant grass cutting and grounds man experience
Experience in operating small grass cutting machines
Training with regard to working with herbicides and pesticides
Understanding of spares and operating manuals of grass cutting machines will be an added advantage
The successful applicant / candidate must possess competencies as published in Annexure A of the Local Government:
Municipal Staff Regulations promulgated in Government Gazette 45181 of 20 September 2021
Key Performance Areas:
Ability to perform routine checks on small plant (e.g. oil levels) and attend to minor defects.
Adherence to Health and Safety rules.
Takes care of own equipment.
Weeding and cleaning of flower beds.
Operating small grass cutting machines.
Operating chain saws.
Spraying herbicides and pesticides.
Tree pruning.
Cemetery maintenance.
Grass cutting.
Cleaning of equipment after use.
Cleaning of storeroom and/or workshop.
