The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing the acquisition and expediting of goods and services required by the Region.
Ensuring internal compliance of ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
Developing regional commodity strategies and supplier base in line with national standards.
Executing procurement policy and implementation plans as directed by the National Procurement Manager.
Contributing to the achievement of the AfriSam transformation plan by implementing and supporting processes to ensure the achievement of set targets on supplier development and preferential procurement.
Perform CEPs within the region and share with PMs in other regions.
Managing the end-to-end supplier relationship management process including contract management by implementing a structured process of business and supplier engagement in order to manage risk and ensure vendor performance.
Participating in the process of selecting the new suppliers and performance evaluation, including developing alternative sources of supply required.
Identifying potential Suppliers and verifying qualifications for take on as vendors.
Participating in Community Stakeholder Engagement Forums to address all local procurement requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience required:
Grade 12, CIPS qualification or Diploma in Procurement, Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce
5 years’ working experience in a Procurement environment. Exposure in a cement or construction material environment will be an added advantage
Knowledge of SAP (MM, FI and PM)
Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge of SLAs, contract management and inventory management
Ability to develop solid and creative sourcing skills
Team Player with good Communication Skills, ability to handle complaints and solve problems.
