Job Description
The Boilershop department currently has a vacancy for a hardworking, reliable individual to join their team as a Boilermaker Team Leader.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Ability to read, understand and interpret fabrication drawings in order to fabricate new components
Attend, oversee and assist with repairs and maintenance of existing components
Assist Management with coordinating repairs and maintenance tasks onsite or offsite
Assist Management with ensuring that all team members comply with the safe working procedures
Provide daily feedback on work status to Management
Submit Cworks requests to ensure quality and planned maintenance
Support Management in ensuring compliance to timekeeping, productive output, discipline and work programs
Facilitate logistics of jobs with the goal of reducing standing time, including coordination with other departments
Monitor quality and efficiency of teams work programs and report any issues or possible improvements
Any other tasks or adhoc duties, as agreed with the department management, suited to this level of leadership
Qualifying Criteria:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Must have a relevant trade test certificate in Boilermaking/Welding
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Qualified Boilermaker/Welder in a similar environment (Steel and or Industrial environment)
Valid driver’s license
Extensive knowledge of power tools
Knowledge and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Rules and regulations
Ability to work under challenging conditions
No fear of heights
Excellent communication skills (understand, read and write in English)
