Role Context
Conduct laboratory-scale flow battery tests following standard operating procedures
Set up, operate, and maintain test rigs and laboratory instrumentation
Monitor the performance of field-deployed batteries and assist with on-site diagnostics
Collect, label, and prepare liquid and solid samples for chemical and physical analysis
Perform basic and intermediate analytical tests (e.g., titrations, spectroscopic analysis) on samples
Record test conditions, results, and anomalies with high attention to detail
Assist with data entry, analysis, and generation of test reports
Support laboratory housekeeping, safety protocols, and inventory management
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend technical meetings, and communicate findings clearly
Ensuring that samples are prepared and analysed accurately and timeously
Requirements
Qualifications:
Grade 12 /with passed subjects (Mathematics and Science), /NQF Level 4
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent science discipline would be advantageous
Computer Literate (Word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Job-specific Experience
Prior laboratory experience, ideally in battery development, electrochemistry, or related fields.
Practical knowledge of chemical handling and laboratory safety practices.
Strong analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work flexibly as part of a development team and independently when required.
Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
