Job Description

We currently have a vacancy for the position of Maintenance Coordinator ,based at our Head office in the West Rand. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and general upkeep of the exterior and interior of the building by carrying out repairs and scheduled, emergency and ad-hoc work according to set standards and ensuring that all building services runs efficient to prevent inconvenience to daily operations. 

Duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Responsible for general maintenance functions such as general repair works, minor electrical repairs, painting, attend to leaks and blocked drains, hanging of pictures, performing of general plumbing duties.
Responsible to ensure floors are in good condition and ensuring that ablution facilities are in working conditions on a daily basis.
Responsible for undertaking of carpentry duties such as repair and replacement of door locks.
Emergency lighting and power supply in case of power failures – to be checked and tested regularly.
Responsible for ensuring proper lighting in the building by replacing all light and ballasts which are not in a working order.
Ensure work is completed in accordance with the safety guidelines and standards.
Inspection of interior and exterior of building and parking areas on a daily basis and ensuring adherence to Occupation Health and Safety standards in daily operations
Developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans
Maintain all relevant maintenance inventory and equipment and ensure proper storage.
Maintenance and monthly checking of the generators.
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 Requirements Minimum:           

Grade 12
Technical Matric advantageous
Technical qualification advantageous
Minimum 2-3 years working experience
Practical exposure in basic tasks of repairs and building maintenance
Be in possession of a valid code 8 driver’s license
Knowledge of OHS Act & ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems advantageous

 Knowledge & skills:

Have broad technical knowledge with a strong focus on work standards, safety standards and customer relationship management
Have the ability to work under pressure, work overtime within reason & serve on stand-by when necessary
Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
Be deadline driven
Be initiating action (innovation) orientated
Problem solving skills
A highly detail-oriented and process-focused orientation
