Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, assemble, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery on site
Perform routine inspections, fault finding, and preventative maintenance on plant equipment
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Align, fit, and secure components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
Dismantle and reassemble pumps, valves, gearboxes, turbines, and related mechanical systems
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and site procedures
Identify mechanical defects and recommend corrective actions
Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job reports
Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and materials
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
Assist with shutdowns, breakdowns, and emergency repairs as required
Adhere to quality standards and ensure all installations meet required specifications
