It is wholly owned by the Government of Zimbabwe and operates in accordance with the public sector rules and regulations. The NRZ mandate is to operate an competitive bulk rail transportation service for bulk goods(freight) and passengers. It was established in 1897 and operates a system that is 2 760 route kilometers of 1 067mm gauge track. It is geographical positioned as the hub and gateway to the region of Southern Africa Development Community (SADC). National Railways of Zimbabwe and Mozambique are linked through Mutare/Machipanda border posts to Beira as well as Sango/Chicualacuala that goes to Maputo. South Africa is linked through Beitbridge, Botswana is connected via Plumtree and Victoria Falls to Zambia.

WE ARE HIRING : ASSISTANT SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT PRACTITIONER:EASTERN REGION
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:• Advising relevant Branches and overseeing that laid down safety standards are being adhered to.• Explaining the National Social Security Authority’s policies and relating statutes safety standards to employees as perstatutory requirements and checking/enforcingadherence.• Assessing and training staff on safety hazards and recommending control measures within workplaces.• Monitoring and arranging for food handlers to undergo medical examinations in consultation with supervisor.• Advising employees on safe handling and storage of flammable substances and attendingwithin limits to spillage of corrosive acids.• Demonstrating correct and proper use of protective clothing to employees.• Promoting the setting up of safety committees and teaching employees on safety awareness.• Assisting in carrying out safety audits system wide.
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements• A minimum of five (5) GCE ‘O’ level passes at ‘C’ or better including Science, Mathematics and English Language.• A Diploma in Environmental Health and be registered with the Environmental Health Professions Council.• Completed the Occupational, Safety, Health and Environmental Management Course (OSHEMAC), (NSSA).• Experience in Industrial Safety.
