Board of Directors and board proceduresThe Board currently consists of 11 non-executive directors with diverse business experience and the NBSZ Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Board meets at least 4 times a year and more frequently as and when a business requirement dictates. Appropriate information is given to directors to enable them to effectively discharge their responsibilities. The Board is responsible for the overall direction of National Blood Service Zimbabwe. Authority for implementing policies is delegated to the CEO.
Job Description
National Blood Service Zimbabwe is inviting applications from young, ambitious, and highly motivated graduates to join its twenty-four-month Graduate Trainee Learnership Programme as Graduate Trainee Blood Donor Coordinators. The programme is designed to develop future leaders through structured training and practical exposure within the organisation. Successful candidates must be willing to be deployed at any of the NBSZ branches located in Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Mutare, and Masvingo.Applicants must have graduated within the last two years from a recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of Focus Areas• Organising and coordinating blood drives and blood donation events.• Developing and implementing blood donor recruitment strategies.• Educating and informing the public about the importance of blood donation.• Building relationships with community organizations, schools, and businesses to promote blood drives.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications1. Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences / Marketing/Communications.2. At least five ordinary level passes including English language and any vernacular language.3. At least two advanced level passes.4. Clean Class 4 Driver’s license.Desired Attributes and Competencies• Be outgoing, mature, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.• Demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders.•Be confident in delivering public presentations and conducting awareness campaigns.• Be willing to work outside normal working hours, including evenings and weekends.• Possess strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.Be adaptable, energetic, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
