About Gokwe Town Council Gokwe was originally a government station. It housed a district commissioner, police, hospital, veterinary services and other government rural agencies. Primarily for the administration of the district, it was also the base for the control of the tsetse fly and its associated lethal disease trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness).
Job Description
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (Grade 8)Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced and task-oriented persons to fill the above-mentioned position.Reporting to: Environmental Health Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
• Infectious disease surveillance, investigation, control and contact tracing.• Premises inspection/health inspections for licensing, routine and control investigations.• Water and food quality monitoring.• Solid waste management.• Community health and hygiene education.• Production of health reports.• Any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Environmental Health Officer.
Qualifications and Experience
• At least a Diploma in Environmental Health or equivalence.• A valid EHPCZ practising certificate.• At least one year relevance experience.• Not more than 55 years of age.
