Key Responsibilities
The primary objective is to optimize the mechanical availability, reliability, and lifecycle of a massive fleet of heavy underground mining equipment, directly impacting the mine’s ability to produce.
The superintendent will develop and enforce rigorous preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, manage complex OEM warranty claims, and oversee major component rebuilds and replacement strategies.
Ensuring total compliance with the MQWM Act regarding machinery safety regulations and leading continuous improvement initiatives in the workshop are fundamental duties.
Requirements
This senior engineering role requires a Mechanical or Elecrical Trade Certificate and a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will be preferred.
Previous experience in a similar leadership role must be demonstrated.
The candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years of extensive experience managing the maintenance of heavy trackless mobile machinery within a demanding underground environment, showcasing high-level proficiency with CMMS software and strong financial budgeting acumen.
Specific preference will be given to candidates that have experience with Sandvik, Caterpillar and Fermel equipment.
