Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our client, a state-of-the-art, international-standard private hospital located in Djibouti City is looking for an IT Manager who will be responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the hospital’s IT infrastructure, including data center, network, servers, cloud, and end-user connectivity. This role ensures high availability, performance, scalability, and security of all infrastructure components supporting clinical and business systems (HIS, PACS, ERP), with a strong focus on fault tolerance, resilience, and service continuity in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement the organization’s IT infrastructure strategy and architecture, ensuring scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure that supports clinical and business systems.
• Oversee the management of data center operations, including on-premise and hybrid environments, ensuring optimal performance, physical security, environmental controls, and comprehensive infrastructure documentation.
• Manage enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, network segmentation, telecom integration, and ISP relationships to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.
• Lead the administration of server, storage, virtualization, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure, ensuring system performance, high availability, lifecycle management, backup, and disaster recovery
capabilities.
• Ensure business continuity and service availability by developing, implementing, and regularly testing disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) plans for all critical systems.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls, including firewalls, access management, network security, and compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards in collaboration with cybersecurity teams.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively optimize system reliability through continuous monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and timely resolution of infrastructure issues.
• Lead infrastructure projects including network upgrades, data center enhancements, cloud migrations, and technology modernization initiatives, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality service delivery, cost optimization, and effective support for infrastructure operations.
• Provide leadership and oversight to the infrastructure team by setting performance objectives, developing technical capabilities, fostering continuous improvement, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality infrastructure support services.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, IT or related
• 8–12 years of experience in IT infrastructure, 3–5 years in a leadership role
• Proven hands-on implementation experience across different technologies and infrastructure pillars.
• Experience working with technology vendors, system integrators, or service providers would be an
advantage.
• Fluent in English and Basic French is highly desired.
• Professional certifications such as:
o Cisco (CCNA/CCNP)
o Microsoft / VMware
o Cloud (Azure/AWS)
