Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our client, a state-of-the-art, international-standard private hospital located in Djibouti City is looking for a Senior HIS Specialist who will be responsible for the implementation, optimization, support, and continuous improvement of the Hospital Information System (HIS), with a primary focus on IQVIA solutions. The role serves as the bridge between clinical operations and technology, ensuring that hospital workflows are effectively translated into system functionality while driving successful system implementations, user adoption, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the implementation, configuration, optimization, and support of the Hospital Information System (HIS), ensuring alignment with clinical and operational requirements across the organization.
• Analyse, document, and optimize clinical and business workflows, translating user requirements into functional system solutions that improve efficiency, patient care, and service delivery.
• Manage end-to-end HIS implementation projects, including planning, stakeholder coordination, testing, training, deployment, system upgrades, and post-implementation support.
• Provide advanced functional support to clinical and administrative users, ensuring timely resolution of system issues, user training, adoption, and continuous improvement of system utilization.
• Ensure the integrity, quality, and availability of healthcare data by supporting reporting, system integrations, regulatory compliance, and adherence to healthcare information management standards.
• Collaborate with clinicians, hospital management, IT teams, and external vendors to deliver integrated healthcare technology solutions and ensure successful implementation of enterprise healthcare applications.
• Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements that improve operational efficiency, clinical workflows, user experience, and overall digital transformation initiatives.
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation and promote best practices in business analysis, process improvement, change management, and healthcare technology governance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Information Management, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications in Healthcare Information Systems, Business Analysis, Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2), ITIL, or Agile methodologies are desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior Hospital Information System (HIS) role.
• Extensive experience working within hospitals or large healthcare organizations is mandatory.
• Proven experience implementing multiple enterprise Hospital Information Systems.
• Experience with IQVIA HIS solutions is the highest priority.
• Professional proficiency in English and French is mandatory, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
