Reports To: Head of Finance
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records.
• Post Accounting transactions into the accounting software
• Asset register maintenance • End month closing procedures including ledger reconciliations • Perform bank and Mpesa reconciliations daily
• Filing of taxes including Withholding Tax, PAYE, Housing Levy etc. and reconciliation of the respective ledger accounts.
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and required documentation.
• Prepare financial reports and conduct financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Monitor compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze financial and operational data using statistical tools.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CPA-K /Finalist qualification.
• Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in a payment-intensive finance role within microfinance, fintech, SACCO, or banking.
• Proven hands-on experience in bank and mobile money payment processing and reconciliations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in SPSS and financial data analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
