    Key duties and responsibilities
    Must be fully committed to working safely and to accepting responsibility for the safety and safe work practices of fellow crew members
    Question any instruction that are not clear and offer suggestions for improving the safety of personnel/the efficiency of carrying out any task
    Stop the job if it appears unsafe or if the job is not going according to plan
    Stop others if their work appears unsafe
    Follow instructions given by the Crane Operator
    Assist in managing deck areas and spaces, ensuring good housekeeping is maintained in all of these areas
    On completion of work activities ensure all tools and equipment are stowed away and secured in the designated location
    Required skills and experience
    Offshore survival
    1-year related experience
    Fire Team Member
    Helideck Team Training.

    Blue Phoenix Deepwater Limited, a leading indigenous provider of subsea diving, underwater inspection, repair, and maintenance services for offshore and nearshore floating assets in the oil, gas, and marine industry, is partnering with Stena Drilling, a leading international drilling company to recruit personnel for a long-term offshore deep-sea drilling project in Nigeria.
    Key duties and responsibilities
    Ensure all lifts are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s expectations
    Ensure a Lifting Assessment/Plan in place for all lifting operations, involving all those participating in the lifting operation
    Perform pre-use checks of the Lifting Appliance prior to commencing any operations
    Any defects must be recorded and passed to the Barge Master or designate in a timely manner
    Shall report any damage or incidents that occur to the crane or structure during lifting operations immediately to the Barge Master or designate
    Select appropriate lifting gear for the lift in question ensuring the valid lifting colour code in use.
    Required skills and experience
    Stage 3 Crane Operator
    Recent and extensive experience in NOV Knuckleboom Cranes
    Minimum 5 years experience as a CO on a drillship
    Deck Rating 1 or 2 is an added advantage
    Fire Team Leader
    Helideck Team Training
    Helicopter Landing Officer.
